That’s in the set
Description
Five Rakataks, five different sounds and plenty of possibilities for making rhythms together: the Rohema Rakatak Set of 5 brings together all five sound variations in the series. From higher to lower tones, the set can be used to explore different rhythms, sound sequences and musical activities.
Unlike traditional maracas, Rakataks do not contain a loose shaker filling. Inside the open-ended, tube-shaped resonating body is a movable striker that hits the sides as the instrument is moved back and forth. A slot in the sound tube contributes to the resonance. Each movement therefore creates a clearly accented clattering tone with a character reminiscent of galloping horses.
The five Rakataks feature different sound tube diameters, producing a range of pitches. Each sound can also be identified by the colour of its striker: yellow represents the highest sound, while brown marks the lowest in the series. The instruments are made from beechwood and finished with wax. With five different pitches, the complete set is particularly suited to group music-making and playful rhythm exercises.
