Shake or scrape? With the Rohema Scrapy Shaker Yellow, you can do both. This compact instrument combines a bell shaker with the ribbed surface of a guiro, offering two different ways to explore rhythm and sound through play.
Inside is a bell that produces a warm sound when the instrument is shaken. When a wooden mallet or stick is moved across the ribbed surface, it creates the characteristic scraping sound of a guiro. This allows two distinctly different sound characters to be produced with a single instrument.
The Scrapy Shaker is made from locally sourced, untreated beechwood. Only the upper end is finished in yellow lacquer, which is sweat- and saliva-resistant. Measuring 65 mm in length and 32 mm in diameter, the Scrapy Shaker has a compact format that is easy for small hands to grip.
