Viola 22102 – Depth you don’t just hear

The viola was never the loud instrument.
And that’s exactly why it often touches people more deeply.

The Viola 22102 by Norbert Knappe lives from this very kind of quiet strength.

Its sound doesn’t force itself into the room. It slowly grows into it. Warm, dark and full — carrying the kind of depth you don’t just hear, but physically feel. The very first notes already reveal the craftsmanship behind the instrument. The response feels direct and controlled, while the tone remains open and musical.

Never sterile.
Never overpolished.

Just honest.

A great viola doesn’t sound perfect.
It sounds human.

The traditional construction and carefully selected tonewoods create beautiful dynamics and a projecting tone that works equally well in ensembles and solo performance. Soft passages remain warm and sensitive. Strong bow strokes develop power and character without ever becoming harsh. That’s exactly why handcrafted instruments feel different.

They react to the player.
To posture.
To emotion.

Perfect for ambitious students, advanced musicians and anyone searching not just for an instrument, but for a true musical voice. Classical music, chamber ensembles, film scores or modern arrangements — the Viola 22102 stays flexible, expressive and alive.

Sounds better when you make it yourself.

Handcrafted by Norbert Knappe.
For people who don’t just want to play music.
But truly feel it.
