Description
An instrument that transforms movement into sound: the Heberlein Ocean Drum is handmade in the Vogtland region of Germany using high-quality natural materials. Steel balls inside the drum create its characteristic rushing sound as the instrument is moved, with the sound changing according to its position and movement.
The frame is made from ash or maple and fitted with a natural skin head. The skin is traditionally nailed to the frame. Inside, the steel balls move across the drumhead to create the distinctive sound of the ocean drum.
The Heberlein Ocean Drum is available in diameters of 18, 24 or 30 cm, providing three sizes for different musical applications and sound experiments.
