Gerald Schneider Blockflötenbau

A great recorder is never the result of mass production.
It is the result of experience, patience, and a deep understanding of wood.

That is exactly what Gerald Schneider Recorder Making represents.

The family workshop dates back to 1864, when Albertus Schneider founded his woodwind instrument workshop. Since then, knowledge and craftsmanship have been passed from one generation to the next—from Arno Schneider and Werner Schneider to Gerald Schneider, who proudly continues the family tradition today.

After completing his apprenticeship with his father Werner Schneider, Gerald Schneider earned his master craftsman's certificate in 1986 and established his own workshop in 1990.

Every recorder is crafted with care, precision, and respect for a tradition that has grown over more than 160 years. The goal is not simply to build an instrument, but to create one with excellent response, balanced tone, and lasting musical character.

Traditional craftsmanship meets modern expectations, resulting in instruments appreciated by beginners, advanced players, and professionals alike.

Or simply put:

For more than four generations, this workshop hasn't just shaped wood.
It has shaped music.
