Meinel-Blockflöten
Meinel recorders, run by René Schlegel, represent instrument making that doesn’t start from scratch – it’s grown over time. Born in 1964, he learned his craft early: From 1981 to 1983, he trained as a bassoon reed maker. From 1984 onward, he worked in the workshop of his grandfather, Helmut Meinel, a master recorder maker. This is not craftsmanship reinvented. It’s craftsmanship passed on.
And you can hear it. He earned his master craftsman certificate in 1986 and has been self-employed since 1987 in Markneukirchen – a place where instrument making is part of everyday life. These recorders are not made to impress. They are made to be played.
