GOLDON Musikinstrumentenbau GmbH

Every musician played a first note at some point. And chances are, it wasn’t perfect. GOLDON makes instruments for exactly that beginning.

The company was founded in Markneukirchen in 1936 and initially produced high-quality recorders under the “Goldon” brand. By the end of the 1940s, the range began to expand – with music for children becoming an increasingly important focus. Musical spinning tops, harmonicas, zithers, children’s clarinets, castanets, children’s guitars and metallophones gradually formed a colourful and varied range designed primarily for early music education. But behind all those shapes and colours is a serious idea: Children shouldn’t just listen to music. They should make it themselves.

That is why GOLDON continues to invest in developing and improving instruments for music education and early musical learning. Its workshops are located in Markneukirchen – in the heart of a region shaped by generations of musical instrument making. GOLDON combines this tradition with instruments designed to make music accessible from an early age. Try. Listen.

Play again.

Discover rhythm. Explore different sounds. And eventually realise: Hey, that was music. Because a first note can lead pretty much anywhere. Or simply put:

Start small. Don’t think small.
