Located in Germany’s historic Vogtland musical region, the Frank family has been producing high-quality gut strings since 1919 — continuing a centuries-old tradition of musical craftsmanship.
Founded by master string maker Ernst Frank, the company has been passed down through generations with one clear goal: creating strings that don’t just work, but truly feel musical.

Today, Wolfgang Frank — himself a master string maker since 1982 — continues the family tradition in its third generation. Efrano combines traditional craftsmanship with precision manufacturing and a deep understanding of what musicians really need.
